What a lovely way to spend a weekend! The atmosphere was homey, a throwback to earlier motel days, created with love by a hard worker. It felt like home, and I spent the whole day just in the back of the property watching time go by. The location was excellent and everything was super clean. Some might think it is outdated and needs more modern facilities, but it is quaint and functional the way it is. We didn’t use the pools due to weather, so I don’t know how they are, but there is a lovely European feel to the facilities.

We didn't realize there was a breakfast, maybe the clerk could have reminded us at check‑in, but after we had already checked out we asked for an item and the clerk was very accommodating, bringing it right to our car—he was kind, especially since we were an elderly couple. We couldn't find any instructions on how to operate the fireplace or the coffeemaker, and a sheet explaining that plus a reminder of the breakfast left on the table when we entered the room would have helped; a sheet indicating where the thermostats are located would also be useful.

The place was charming, the grounds outside were exceptional, and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit. The rooms were a bit dated, but that added to the charm; they were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. Nothing else to note—everything was lovely.

The atmosphere was very friendly and the grounds were beautiful with a great view of the lake. We didn’t get a chance to take out a canoe or a kayak, but hopefully next time! Wildwood looked like a little Swiss chalet and we will definitely be back. The only downside was that there was no light at the entrance to the building after dark; we managed without it.
