Despite the building’s age, the interior was clean. It was a single‑family house, so I didn’t have to worry about other guests. Prices were relatively reasonable even though most hotels were expensive during Obon. The front desk staff were friendly. I had expected many insects because of the location and season, but a few mosquitoes entered the room as soon as I opened the door, which made me uneasy (there was a mosquito repellent in the room). There were also stink bugs in the bathroom. If you’re sensitive to that, it’s a deal‑breaker. The interior had an Asian‑antique vibe, but the bathroom wall tiles had a European‑style painted design that seemed mismatched—probably a cost‑saving measure, which I noted. The toilet was a type I hadn’t seen before, so I didn’t know how to use it at first (instructions were on the wall). It was pretty retro; you might want to try it once for a laugh.

The breakfast was delicious. The stairs were steeper than I expected, which made me a little worried about my child falling, but otherwise I was very satisfied. The welcome service was also good.

The hotel has a second floor, which is a nice touch, and the rooms are spacious. A water server is available and there’s a paid viewing area. The exterior and interior are beautifully lit, but the lack of normal lighting makes it hard to see, especially when parking; the sink is barely visible in the car parking area.
