The rooms were overall tidy and somewhat clean, which was the only real bright spot of our stay. For me, it felt like fraud. We didn’t get the accommodation we booked, had to wrestle with hidden extra fees and contradictory excuses. A day before arrival, 80 € per person for transport was suddenly demanded via WhatsApp, though none of that was mentioned when booking. Instead of the booked Black Rock Camp, we ended up at the “Desert Rose Camp” (according to Google Maps). Other guests had originally booked different camps. Staff claimed they run several camps with different listings, all identical and the pictures just outdated. My complaints were ignored. They kept saying they were just staff and had to ask the boss, who was initially absent and later explained over the phone that it wasn’t his problem. My WhatsApp contact promised help but then didn’t respond. By the time it was dark and we were in the middle of the desert, we couldn’t just leave. Only on the second day, after more back‑and‑forth, were we offered a camp change, but it was too late. We could have accepted that on the arrival night. Other guests reportedly paid two thirds to half as much as we did. The camp itself was disappointing: broken toilet light, no sockets (only USB‑A), bad Wi‑Fi, no seating furniture as shown in booking photos, only sandy cushions, broken sandboards. Breakfast and dinner were sparse, bread was sometimes stale. No variety: once dry kofta without proper sauce, once a small piece of chicken on a huge amount of onions. Bottom line: we paid for a specific place but were quietly moved to a different, apparently cheaper camp. Instead of a fix, we got excuses and blame‑shifting. A highly untrustworthy experience. I strongly advise against booking.
