Nestled in a 17th‑century building, Hotel Goldener Löwe sits a minute’s walk from Meißen’s market square. Rooms and suites offer, while Wi‑Fi keeps guests connected. A breakfast buffet, regional wines, hearty dishes at Zum Löwen, and rustic fare at Zum Speicher bar satisfy diners. The lounge’s fireplace and sunny terrace provide ambience, and Albrechtsburg castle lies a ten‑minute stroll away.

The hotel’s location is ideal for strolling through the beautiful old town. Getting there was a bit complicated, and handling luggage was difficult because the pedestrian zone made it hard to bring bags into the hotel. The breakfast was very good in a nice setting. The staff were very friendly, and I would gladly return. The wheelchair access through the back entrance was a bit difficult because of the steps.

The spot right in the city center with plenty of reasonably priced parking right outside the hotel was superb, and it was very quiet. Our room, including the bathroom, was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The hotel feels a bit old, but that gives it a certain charm.

The breakfast was fine, but we never spotted the room service.

The location was great, but the reception staff were unhelpful, the breakfast area felt cramped, there was a bad odor at the reception, the safe didn't work, the toilet flush ran continuously, and the room faced the kitchen exhaust on one side while the other window offered a night view.
