We spent a night at Jennings Abode Homestay in Doddabetta, and it turned out to be a peaceful experience; the place sits beautifully above the hills, and we woke up to birds chirping, mist, and a lovely sunrise. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff were humble and helpful, and the owner even called to check on our comfort, which was thoughtful. The food was decent, and overall the service was excellent; we’d love to return with our family. Note that access to the property is via a narrow, non-tarred road, but we drove a sedan and had no issues. Highly recommend Jennings Abode if you want a quiet, scenic, and homely stay in Ooty.

“Horrible”

The staff never told us what breakfast was available, so we had to bring our own food; they seemed lazy and the manager was constantly drunk. They refused everything, didn’t mention breakfast, only offered an omelette, and the manager said we could have asked for other options. The service was poor, the bedsheets were dirty, and overall nothing was good about the place. I’ve never seen such a bad experience and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff, location, and service were great, though the hotel is hard to locate; it’s worth booking because the staff will help with pickup.
