“Wunderbar / Harmonie mit Haus und Gastgebern!”
It’s a classic Korean house with a lovely courtyard that invites you to linger, and in just a few steps you’re near sights or a restaurant; we stayed in the large room on the first floor called “Matraze” – we didn’t dare try the futon – the room was very spacious and after a week in Seoul it felt like a real stretch of space; the lady of the house is a wonderful personality who runs the place with culture and elegance, and the gentleman is the perfect guide for Gyeongju – you don’t need a plan, just ask Mr Kim and he’ll give you the perfect schedule for your stay; the breakfast was great, classic Korean dishes prepared by the chef himself – rice, meat, jeon, vegetables, mandu, fruit, and even coffee – but you should know that it’s a traditional Hanok, so walls are wood and you can hear neighbors or street noise, which is why I always bring noise‑cancelling earplugs; also there are no blinds, so it’s not dark, and you’ll need a sleep mask.
