“Great staff, but resort facilities are in need of improvement”
The resort staff were fantastic—always friendly, smiling, and willing to help. The room was spacious, relatively clean (though the bathroom had a few patches of mould in the shower and on the ceiling), and serviced daily with a made bed and fresh towels. When the weather was good, sitting by the pool or walking near the beach was pleasant and relaxing. However, when we arrived more than an hour after the official 3 pm check‑in time, despite having informed the resort of our expected arrival days earlier, we were told the room wasn’t ready because the maids hadn’t cleaned it yet. We had to wait over half an hour in the reception area with nothing to do, which was a rough start. The main issue is the limited facilities, especially in bad weather. For the first three windy and rainy days there were no activities or indoor options—no board games, pool table, or other indoor entertainment—except sitting in the restaurant or sports bar (only while eating or drinking), or reading and watching TV in our room. Even on sunny days the facilities felt run‑down: the pool had stains at the bottom and buildup around the filters; the spa attached to the pool was non‑operational throughout our week‑long stay; the water feature beside the pool was completely dry and used as a walkway by staff and guests. Pool water was consistently cold—refreshing on warm days but uninviting on cooler ones. The resort overall looked a bit run‑down and tired, with stained chair cushions and placemats in the restaurant and sports bar, worn sun loungers and umbrellas, broken or disused children’s play equipment in the Kids Club, and plastic bottles and other rubbish on the rocks and vegetation along the beach. It felt more like a 3.5‑star place and definitely not a 5‑star resort.
