The breakfast was delicious and carefully served. Nothing else to complain about.
“Nicht erholsam”
The view from a room on the first floor is very good. The hotel is on the main traffic road and on the train tracks to London, which makes it hellishly loud.
“Un bovindo sul mare”
A room with a balcony overlooking the sea, a beautiful view. The owners are delightful, the property is well‑kept and clean, and the breakfast is simple but good. There is a lot of attention to avoiding unnecessary food waste. For anyone who wants to feel at home in Cornwall.
We were treated to fresh fruit, orange juice and muesli for breakfast, and we could choose the warm breakfast a day in advance to our liking—omelette or other egg dishes, Cornish breakfast, fish or baked beans—served fresh. Melanie and Thomas were very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The room with its bay window offered a fantastic sea view, and Penzance was a perfect base for excursions.
“A Perfect Room with a View”
The hotel feels like a well‑maintained Georgian/Victorian family home, decorated to keep that vibe, and staying here is like being a guest in a beautiful private residence. Free parking is available on the property, the station is a five‑minute walk, and the town is a ten‑minute walk with plenty of evening dining options; the Penzance geothermal swimming pool is also walkable and highly recommended. Our room offered the most magnificent view across the bay to St Michael’s Mount, and we watched sunrise and sunset from the lovely seating area. The bed is huge and comfortable, and the room is cleaned every day—something other hotels have dropped since covid. The couple who run the hotel are friendly, interesting, and genuinely interested in their guests. The breakfast is second to none; if you have an omelette, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be back; it’s perfect. Nothing we didn’t like.
