The kitchen was dirty and my guest room was shared with a permanent resident who had clothes scattered everywhere. I was told to switch the light off at 8 pm. I complained about dirty dishes with food in the kitchen sink; after being there for three days, the owner said, “Don’t fight with guests, or you must leave.” This was my first bad experience in the hospitality industry in Cape Town. I had no internet for a week or more.
