Sunny terraces, but a bad house on a nice location; we had a whole hostel for our five, all of us. The address with four rooms didn’t match; it’s at number 8 instead of 7 and it’s hard to reach the owner for access.
“Good guests, more staff needed.”
A good crowd, close to the beach, surfboards and wetsuits available, a kitchen to cook your own food. Run by one volunteer; I think at least one permanent staff member is needed. That’s why the hostel wasn’t cleaned to the required standard and there was a lack of organisation and adequate support, especially during check‑in and check‑out. It’s a long walk from the main town – 30 minutes.
“A nice place with a lot of potential, but with very bad staff at the moment.”
The outdoor seating options were great, with shaded spots and sunny ones, and the kitchen was well equipped. However, the staff and their friends smoked weed all day, filling the air with a strong odor, and they seemed annoyed when we asked for help. The overall vibe suffered because of this. The hotel has a lot of potential, but it’s not being realized right now. During our stay, five of us fell ill, and we’re not sure if it was the environment or just a coincidence.
“Es war sehr entspannt.”
The location was perfect for me: within walking distance to the sandy beach yet a bit away from the town’s bustle. The house itself is large enough and has a nice roof terrace. Naturally, it depends on the other guests how you feel, but most of my stay was very pleasant and relaxed. The volunteer in the house was also relaxed and friendly. I still don’t understand where mosquitoes come from on such a dry island. The mosquito nets in the rooms could be replaced or cleaned well to let more air in.
“War toll :)”
The kitchen and the roof terrace. There are only two sockets in a four‑bedroom room.
