“Overflow groups at breakfast make for a chaotic scene on weekends.”
The room was spotless and the bed very comfy. We appreciated the free airport shuttle on Monday. One kitchen staff member was very caring and tried to manage the overflow crowd at breakfast on Saturday and Sunday; she escorted us and others to a conference room and brought coffee. It was too crowded to get a piece of toast. We didn’t like that two large noisy groups stayed for one night each, occupying all the dining seating on Saturday, Sept 19, and Sunday, Sept 20. Having stayed at the Hampton Inn Conference Center in Bridgewater, New Jersey many times, we always looked forward to a relaxed breakfast where we could serve ourselves. They have enough tables and chairs for all guests regardless of arrival time, which wasn’t the case at the Hampton Inn Toronto Airport Conference Centre. Our only quiet breakfast was when we left at 7 am on Sept 21. The hotel clerk apologized for the overflow group and said they usually have large groups on weekends. She asked if we had breakfast, and I said yes. My bill was $839 for 3 nights. I would hesitate to stay again on a weekend unless the policy changed. Obviously, the hotel earns more with a group of 100 people, but there should be limits on when they can enter the dining room or at least give priority seating to guests staying at least 3 nights. Also there was no milk or cream for coffee, only coffee mate.
