“Lovely Hotel - will stay again”
The location is good, and the staff are lovely and attentive. When I mentioned the room’s condition, the receptionist was gracious and accepted my feedback, which was all I wanted. The rooms feel a bit tired and need a makeover; despite being “clean,” they required attention—there were permanent stains on the bathroom floor, the single window was dirty outside, cabinet hinges needed work, and some doors wouldn’t close. The ironing board collapsed when I used it, and the iron didn’t heat. The room needed repainting. When I shared my concerns, they offered to change rooms, which was nice, but not necessary; I was just giving feedback because I expected a higher standard from a Renaissance Hotel. They told me the rooms are being upgraded over winter, so future stays should reflect the brand. I think we booked a room at the end of its cycle before maintenance.
