Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide range from boiled eggs and toast to a full English; lunch and supper were a bit on the meagre side, and some pubs do better at this, though I can’t comment on their breakfast or location.

“A little gem of a place which we are so glad we found, and will return.”

A 2‑star hotel? Impossible! We stayed for a wedding at a nearby brewery, were welcomed by the owner who chatted and recommended ales, letting us try a couple beforehand. We saw people arriving for Sunday lunches but didn’t want a large meal before the wedding, so we chose a cob and chips to share—huge and delicious. The bedroom had everything you’d need (except handsoap) and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast the next morning was gigantic and tasty. The pub feels like a gem, and I can’t believe it’s only 2 stars. All staff were friendly, as were the regulars—mostly with their dogs—who popped in for a beer and a cob. I was in my element with the dogs, and the icing on the cake was meeting the owners’ Border Collies, Rolo and Eric, since I’m also a Border Collie mom. I’ll definitely return; the train station is opposite the pub, making it easy to enjoy drinks and food in a warm, welcoming environment.

“Amazing value for money.”

A truly fabulous stay at The Seven Stars; everyone was welcoming, the value for money was brilliant, the rooms excellent, breakfast amazing, and the pub lovely.

“They are all such EVIL EVIL EVIL SKUM SKUM SKUM SKUM people boys girls that do work at that building”

Nothing good—this guy verbally attacked me on a phone call and tried to cancel my booking. The staff were all skum.
