Residence Inn by Marriott Davenport

“I'd love to stay here again when in the area.”

The room was very comfortable and pleasant, with good quality bedding and soft, plentiful towels; I appreciated being on the ground floor with easy access to an exterior door for bringing the dog in and out, and the pet exercise area on the side of the property was a nice touch. I can’t think of anything else, except that the dog waste bag dispenser was empty, which wasn’t a big deal.

There was no pool and the website hasn’t been updated with that information

I couldn't stay because the hotel demanded a 500.00 deposit for locals, a requirement I was not told about when booking and only informed of at check‑in. I suspect it was racial discrimination; the front desk staff retrieved a sign from under the counter after learning I lived in Davenport, which explains why it wasn't listed on the reservation site. My wife, who is white and also a local, checked in the next day and was not asked for the deposit. We never stayed at the hotel again and will warn others not to stay here.

The place is spotless and right next to the hospital, but the entry doors could be automatic to ease the strain of lugging luggage, and an overhang would shield guests from rain, sleet, or snow.

“Would probably come back to stay just for the room. Can’t say that much for the breakfast”

It was a great place to stay with friendly staff and a clean, comfortable room, yet the breakfast was awful—only a few items at the bar, no waffle mix, no toast bread or other breads, and no fruit.
