“Bella struttura, non totalmente all’altezza delle aspettative”
The location is definitely a highlight: the hotel sits at Punta Zicatela, a pleasant area close to restaurants, shops and everything you need to enjoy the surroundings comfortably. The building itself is very attractive, and the rooftop pool is stunning—a perfect spot to relax and soak up Puerto Escondido’s vibe. A special shout‑out to bartender Diego, whose cocktails were excellent and who kept the conversation enjoyable; he’s truly a strength of the Mantra. On the downside, the bed was one of the softest I’ve ever slept on, far too soft along with the pillow, making it unreasonable; the air‑conditioner, essential in the heat, was noisy. Those two issues made sleeping difficult over the six nights. We also spotted two cockroaches in the bathroom one night; while we understand the tropical setting and recent rain, it was unexpected for a four‑star property, though it was dealt with quickly. Finally, the extra charges at checkout were handled unprofessionally—we were given a total amount without any receipt or itemised breakdown, and when we asked for details we were ignored, partly because of the language barrier. Given the hotel’s location, we would have expected the front desk to communicate easily in English, but with some staff it was practically impossible.
