The old‑school décor and furniture are very beautiful, the bed is comfy, the location is great, but there’s no hot water in the showers.

The style and quality of the service and furnishings were refined.

It was right in the center with everything around, but be prepared for Cairo’s noise; you’ll get used to it after a while.

We stayed for 2 nights and the staff were friendly, with reception open 24 hours and the central area well served and quiet. Each room was refurnished daily, the beds were comfortable, and our room—though a double—had an extra bed. The hotel could really shine if it were given a tasteful renovation without a complete overhaul. It has a 1930s/40s style, a reading room, a large breakfast hall that feels like a Hercule Poirot film, and a wrought‑iron elevator. Unfortunately, the building shows its age: the bathrooms need a full rebuild, the common rooms are dim, and the curtains over the windows and balconies block the view of the crumbling roofs in front; Cairo is all that way, but letting more light in and cleaning the windows would help. The bathroom only has a small soap on the sink and offers no other toiletries. Breakfast was very basic, and there was no airport shuttle even though it was listed.

Very well located, clean and the welcome was great. It does feel a bit pricey for the quality you get.
