“Отель не плохой, но второй раз я бы не вернулась. Не стоит своих денег.”
Choosing a hotel in Rome, we knew we didn’t want to stay in the center, so the location didn’t bother us. The hotel is 5 minutes from the train station, but it sits on a hill, and walking up the 45‑degree slope with suitcases was a struggle. The photos of rooms with a view of the Vatican convinced us, and we finally got such a room – the view is the main perk 😍. The next day we had to change rooms because the original one had a lot of ants; at first I didn’t notice them, but a night later a bumblebee flew in, we killed it in the bathroom, and the next morning a troop of anteaters was dragging it away for lunch – not a pleasant sight. The staff reacted calmly and offered several solutions right away. We packed up and while we were out walking, they moved our belongings to a neighboring room, which we appreciated. If ants are in one room, they’re probably in the whole hotel… Another oddity was the shower in the first room – there was no curtain or wall to block the water, so it splashed onto the walls and floor, and you can imagine how much water ended up on the floor and how mold might develop. The room is small but fine for a few days. The fridge is so tiny it can’t even hold a bottle of water; it’s flat and only fits chocolate bars. We had breakfast included, which I’d rate 3/5. I’m not picky, but you can’t pour tea yourself; they bring it and you have to ask five times for more or for boiling water. The scrambled eggs were always cold, which I didn’t understand. There are vegetables, fruit, pastries, sausage, and cheese, so you can find something to eat. Another quirk was that they have no blankets at all. Even though it was +38°C during the day in Rome, the air conditioning in the room cooled well. I’m a cold sleeper and usually sleep with a half‑blanket; they said all blankets are in the dry‑cleaning. But the staff did a good job, bringing us two extra duvet covers and making a blanket themselves.
