The rustic charm of the run‑down jungle facilities can be seen as quite nice, and the overall vibe was laid back with monkeys passing by once a day. However, the hostel has a severe problem with food poisoning that they don’t acknowledge; based on other reviews, it happens every other week, and my girlfriend suffered a heavy intoxication from the vegetable pasta that left us unable to visit Tayrona park.

The spot in the jungle is beautiful.

The hostel is a lovely oasis in the jungle, and it’s handy to have a restaurant and bar on site; the poke bowls and pumpkin soup are especially delicious. On the downside, there are three river crossings if you walk to the property—dry conditions are fine, but in wet weather be prepared to get your ankles wet!

I stayed at a pretty hostel in a great spot, but the music was blasting until 23:30 and it’s really a party place, so if you’re after nature sounds and quiet you shouldn’t book here. The shared rooms felt inauthentic and the people were very disrespectful.
