Galu Ecolodge - Diani Beach

The place was actually bigger than we expected from the pictures and we loved that they have mosquito nets to keep out any insects at night. We were a little sad to miss out on the beach bungalow but wow the garden bungalow has such a nice calming vibe especially if you'd want to read sat by the patio early in the morning. You can also hear the waves from these rooms since the lodge was not crowded when we stayed. The staff are amazing and friendly. They took time explaining sites to see for us and they catered to almost all of our food requests as we went on during fasting days and respected our halal food options which we really appreciated. The views were amazing and the beach beds are clean although we couldn't enjoy it to the fullest due to the rain.

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially in the reception and the beach bar. Spacious bungalow with beautiful lush garden views. The beach are is nice and cleaned daily, which we appreciated alongside the hotel's sustainability commitments. The breakfast selection is great and food very delicious. For the price range, the hotel could use some refurbishment - ripped mosquito nets, rusty metal fixtures in bathroom, musty/ripped cushions in outdoor furniture in the bungalow terrace and beach/pool. Breakfast service was quite slow (faster service during the day and evenings)

Standing right in front of the beach, the room was clean and spacious, the restaurant was nice, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast service lagged a bit at times, and it felt unsafe to walk outside the resort after dark.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I arrived before the official check‑in time without notifying the hotel, yet they still prioritized my arrival, and the lovely lady on duty kept coordinating with the cleaning crew to ensure the room was ready. The food was amazing, and the staff remained helpful and welcoming. The room was tidy, spacious, and featured a great terrace. The beach was very clean, and the shower offered strong water pressure and heated quickly. Breakfast was also delicious. The only downside was that my room didn’t have an ensuite bathroom; the bathroom was separate from the bedroom, which was a bit inconvenient, and there was no mirror in the room, which was disappointing.
