The Old Ground Hotel, an 18th-century ivy-clad manor house in Ennis, County Clare, offers a luxurious blend of country warmth and style. Located in the medieval town centre, it provides easy access to west coast attractions like the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, and Aran Islands. A blazing fire crackles in the evenings, offering a cozy respite with scenic views.

Great location right in the centre, but a bit of a hike to our room.

As above, but we would prefer a buffet breakfast to ensure getting what was wanted; Poets Corner is nice but the staff have no idea about cocktails, and if they are going to be faced with transatlantic visitors their lack of knowledge would seriously damage the hotel reputation.

Beautiful rooms, grounds and dining spaces; breakfast was excellent as was dinner at The Town Hall, and the staff were kind and welcoming. The only disappointment was the musicians in the Poets Corner pub.

The hotel has a comfortable feel to it, a good variety for breakfast, and a vibrant atmosphere in Poets Bar, but our room was cold when we arrived.
