The free amenities on the first floor—water dispenser, microwave—were handy, and I appreciated being able to leave luggage after checkout. The elevator was very fast, which was a big plus. The hairdryer in the room was powerful, so I could dry my hair quickly, and the shampoo in the bathroom was pleasantly thick. Right after the elevator on the first floor, there’s a restroom; if a companion wants to use it while showering, they can just go down to the lobby, which is a small convenience. If you want to eat breakfast in your room, you could pack it separately and bring it back. The staff were generally friendly, and having a Korean employee meant I didn’t worry about language. There are many convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, but the most satisfying was Peacock Store, a 10‑minute walk away, which is a bit larger than a typical neighborhood 24‑hour supermarket and cheaper than Ito Yokado; it was great for early‑morning shopping, and the sushi and sashimi lunch boxes were good. For breakfast, I only tried it once: there were three kinds of bread, all bland, and none had butter or jam. Since it’s free breakfast, if the cost doesn’t allow for butter or jam, a toaster would be nice. The small refrigerators in the hotel are a common issue: the top compartment is a freezer, so if you put ice cream in it, half will melt—be careful.

Location and service.

Good location, close to metro and train stations. The room is comfortable and has everything needed for a pleasant stay in Tokyo. The room was clean and, though small, functional. Breakfast was geared toward Japanese cuisine, not continental, and somewhat sparse. At reception, no English or Spanish is spoken, only Japanese, but we managed with a translator.

The metro is close and the area is quiet. The lunch menu is limited and too local; the dining room is small for lunch, and the bathroom is smaller than at other hotels where we have stayed.
