Baobab Beach Resort & Spa, in Diani Beach, overlooks the Indian Ocean from a lush garden setting. The resort features a 3-tier pool, spa centre, and multiple restaurants. Spacious rooms have flat-screen TVs, seating areas, and sea or pool views. Guests enjoy massage treatments, a steam room, hydro bath, and fitness centre, plus tennis, darts, table tennis, and watersports, near golfing and snorkeling spots.

The newly renovated KoleKole rooms are superb, and the animation team makes the place special. Evening shows are creative, energetic, and involve guests, while daytime activities encourage people to meet if they wish, creating a friendly atmosphere without pressure. The pools, beach, and reef are nearby, and a separate reception for our end worked well. However, the new floors are slippery, and more towels and a shower mat would be appreciated. Doors slam or an alarm rings, and I couldn’t access the spa because it was fully booked.

The staff are lovely and the facilities are great. It’s unfortunate that you can’t go to the beach without being pestered.

The Junior ocean view suite came with a hot tub, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Evening entertainment was brilliant, and the food varied. The 10 am checkout is inconvenient; if you want a late checkout you must pay 75 % of the room fee to stay until 4 pm, plus an extra charge to use the AI for the day after 10 am. Premium drinks cost extra, the AI cocktails aren’t great, and beach vendors constantly bother guests.

The staff’s kindness, the setting, and the buffet were wonderful. We didn’t understand why we had to pay €30 per person on our last day for food and drinks.
