The spot is spot on for walking around the charming little town with its quirky shops, but the breakfast selection could use a bit more variety.

The historic building gives off a quirky, quaint vibe, and the garden plus walking location are lovely; the spa bath and four‑poster bed were great, though the age of the building shows in some wear and tear.

The fruit salad was lovely.

Everyone on the staff was friendly, and we ended up with a comfy four‑poster room and a great whirlpool bath; we used the hotel as a base and ate there both nights, finding the food delicious and good value, and the continental breakfast was good too. We would definitely recommend, even though our room above the bar let us hear people talking, which didn’t bother us much since the bar closed before 10.
