This hotel has stored countless wonderful memories over the last 50 years that I’ve known about. The best part is that it stays traditional and hasn’t gone minimalist! May it stay that way for a long time.

The front desk and the restaurant staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and my room was spotless; the building is old but still clean, and the water in the showers is weak, though most guests will find it strong enough—I'm just a bit picky 😭. The only downside was that everything was noisy.

• the garden lodge suite is spacious, very comfortable and very attractively furnished and decorated • this hotel offers well priced rooms - good value • the greenery and colourful flowers in the gardens are delightful • I like that there is a good choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes. • the location is not ideal • it can be difficult to drive up.to the entrance and from there back out to the road due to the uneven surface of the long and winding path and signage in need of improvement
