“Good, but there is place for improvement”

The breakfast was great, the staff were attentive and friendly, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the complimentary pillow menu was a nice touch; the kids club was good and the green, lush grounds were full of birds. However, the property is fairly new yet some areas feel worn out—particularly the kids pool where many tiles have fallen off and no one knows why they’re not being repaired, and there are spots of rust and dirt. The stairways and public toilets in the common areas were not always clean. When I asked the waiter in Mekong if a dish was not spicy, he said “not spicy,” but after about 40 minutes the meal turned out to be very spicy.

Everything was excellent, from the warm welcoming at the reception to the cleanliness and the great staff.

“Unexpected horrible experience”

The location was good and Arwa, the manager, was really nice, and the Shisha guy at the beach lounge was the only one who actually cared to serve us. From the start, everyone seemed busy; the receptionist was very quiet and told us that dinner or lunch could be at Sea Breeze, which is a closed restaurant. The buggy guy gave us a lot of wrong information—if they just had a refresher or training on the pool timing, the facilities, and which restaurants are open or closed, it would help. I only stayed one night, so I emailed the hotel that it was our anniversary and I’d love to make it special, but I received no response. The room was not that big, so I didn’t feel the luxury of the place; Intercontinental is almost the same location but gave us a much better experience. The sea was dirty—so dirty we couldn’t even go 100 m into the water.
