Very friendly staff, but the bedding was dirty—hair in the shower—and there was noise until 1 am in the hotel, with corridors poorly insulated.

The experience was extremely disappointing and the management behaved completely unacceptably. I had booked and fully paid for a room for one week; after the first night I left the hotel to explore the island for a few days while keeping my room for the entire booked period. The hotel called me asking why my belongings were no longer in the room. I explained that I was traveling around the island and would return in a few days. They called again to ask exactly when I would return. Only after I questioned them did they mention a possible problem with the balcony and the possibility of moving me to another room. I returned earlier than expected, only to discover that somebody else's luggage was already inside my original room. At reception, the explanation suddenly changed. I was told there had been a water problem on the fourth floor and that, because I wasn't physically staying in the room, they had moved me. This made little sense, especially since somebody else was now occupying the room that supposedly had a problem. I was given an inferior replacement room, with two single beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed, considerably less natural light, a much worse balcony and the room was facing the main street which was very noisy. However, the worst part was the owner's/manager's behaviour. When my boyfriend questioned the conflicting explanations and asked whether there was any documentation supporting the alleged repairs, the owner provided no evidence or written explanation. Instead, he became verbally aggressive, repeatedly raising his voice, shouting at us and walking away before returning to continue shouting. My boyfriend remained calm and repeatedly asked him to speak normally. When my boyfriend mentioned calling the police if the situation could not be resolved, the owner became even louder, repeatedly shouting, “Then call the police! Call the police!”

Nice. The only small plus was the buffet breakfast, which was still mediocre; everything else was terrible. The location is awful—photos on Booking show the place in a very appealing light, but the truth is it sits on a busy street. The balcony in the room faced passing cars and the street noise was unbearable; the balcony was kept closed to try to muffle the noise. The same happened with the pool, which is outdoors and offers no relaxation because you only hear street noise. On the last day, despite these unpleasant circumstances, I wanted to use it, but the hotel had taken in dozens of people who, as I learned, had cancelled flights. Those people, who were not hotel guests, occupied all the pool loungers and the hotel was very crowded and uncomfortable, so I gave up swimming when I saw how many people were there. Another issue—I never encountered such an idiotic parking system. The hotel parking is rectangular, and to take a spot you must either have someone parked or be parked yourself, which means the hotel requires you to leave your car keys at reception for the whole parking period. When you want to leave, the reception staff takes the keys and moves your car themselves. I don't need to mention that most people use rental cars and the rental agreement states that you cannot hand over the keys to a third party? What if something happens during that time? The cherry on top was an old, small safe that turned out to be extra‑payable. I really do not recommend it. We had a lot of stress during our stay at this property.
