“El peor hotel que he visitado.”
The nature was a highlight. From the start you have to sign a waiver that absolves the hotel of responsibility for your safety because it sits in a forest with rivers, waterfalls, trails, etc. There is no nursing service or insurance, no phone line for emergencies, and the nearest inhabited place is at least 40 minutes by car. To feel somewhat safe you can buy a Wi‑Fi signal for a few hours at a cost. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows offer no comfort. The room is infested with insects, has spider webs on the walls, and on a single wooden table we saw cockroaches; the curtains are also very dirty, which made us doubt the cleanliness of the sheets and blankets, and even the floor was dirty, supposedly to give an immersive nature experience. In short, we couldn’t rest at all. The bathrooms are latrines with a shared septic pit that smells worse than a public toilet, the showers are shared and lack hot water; the fabric curtains that separate the showers open and provide no privacy, so you’re told to shower in a swimsuit. The lockers in front of the shower are uncomfortable because everything is communal. You can’t use towels by the river or the pool, so that’s off limits. You also can’t eat or drink in the room, and they give a specific time to buy food from the kitchen depending on how many people are there (at least six). We were offered pozole for dinner (obviously with an extra fee) and they served half a plate that had no flavor. The site is a marvel in terms of nature, but the hotel experience is abysmal.
“Fue una experiencia maravillosa. Nosotros siempre buscamos ese contacto con la naturaleza para aterrizar y sanar de toda”
The host’s service was exceptional; we felt very comfortable and cared for. The entire property met our expectations for being isolated from the city’s noise, and even the showers and eco‑bathrooms were the cleanest and most comfortable we’ve seen.
