“Not very good”
We can only give this place a 3 and not recommend it until they fix some issues. The rating isn’t lower because of the amenities they offer. The A/C is excellent and looks new in room #1. The hot water is next level—be careful, it comes out boiling hot! A dehumidifier is in the room. An ice machine and some snacks/small meals are available for a price. The coffee machine and coffee with free toast bread are there, but the bread runs out quickly when the place is full; early birds get it. Overall the place is a bit run down and needs maintenance. Rust is visible in places, and there are broken items such as door seals and a dirty water filter. Bugs! If you like bugs, the place is full of ants, small beetle‑looking creatures, mosquitoes, and other critters that crawl on your face at night. There are also geckos, which can be very loud; their chirping is unmistakable at 0200. Speaking of 0200, a dog that sounds like it’s right outside the window of unit one starts barking and won’t stop for at least 30 minutes. No peep during the day, but it barks all night. The beds are, hands down, the worst excuse for a bed I’ve ever encountered in the world. They’re like sleeping on bricks covered with sheets. I had constant back pain while we were here with nothing but sleepless nights. My wife was able to rub my back daily for some relief. When we asked the house boy for an extra comforter, he offered a thin sheet for 100 NTD. This hometel does not provide pickup or drop‑off services to the airport or port. I saw a previous Google review that said they did, but it must be old.
