“Nice room with nice view”
The room was large, clean, with a spacious balcony, good lighting from the bedside table lamps, a decent air‑con top, and solid Wi‑Fi; a table would have been handy for storage. The surroundings were pleasant, surrounded by green rice fields, a nearby restaurant with a pool, two small cafés, convenient laundry, and supermarkets on the main road, and the owners were friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen was subpar and could use a cleanliness upgrade; it had too few items for different guests, lacking cups or glasses, only one plate and two bowls for eating, and the dish‑washing utensils were old and dirty. When I asked if that was all, they confirmed it. It’s puzzling why inexpensive items like a wooden spoon or a few cups aren’t provided, especially when the room advertises a kitchen. Additionally, if other guests don’t clean up after themselves, you end up cleaning their mess to cook, which happened. The owners were present daily, and while the room was nice, the kitchen area was neglected: cupboards were covered in spider webs, plants had old leaves and webs—quite shocking. In the room, Wi‑Fi was strong, but too strong for a good sleep. The linen curtains let in a lot of light from outside, and the balcony seat covers could have been washed. If that’s not a deal‑breaker and you just need a room to roam Ubud and dine outside, it’s a nice room with a good balcony in a good location at a reasonable price. Some construction nearby was ongoing and might last a few months, but it wasn’t too disruptive.
