The setting is peaceful, but the food selection is lacking and the pool isn’t suitable for kids.

The location is great, just a short walk to town and a pool. The property is in bad shape; the staircase to my room was loose and had to be used carefully, the showers stayed cold, and breakfast options were limited.

The stay at Guesthouse Jane in Naivasha was a major let‑down. Cleanliness, maintenance, comfort, food quality, and hospitality were all below standard. The one‑bedroom unit had only one working socket, forcing us to use an extension cord. There was no soap or toilet paper, and the bed wasn’t made on the first night. The room was stuffy, and we woke up with blocked noses. The toilet was so clogged that I had to bring a bucket to try flushing it, and a plumber had to be called. Water from the shower leaked into the bedroom, and even the mosquito net smelled unpleasant. Breakfast was a single slice of bread, thin watermelon slices, a cup of tea, and an egg, while a white guest received a whole loaf of bread—an obvious inequality that left me uneasy. I’m pregnant, but I wasn’t asking for special treatment; I just wanted a decent breakfast and fair service. We paid KSh 6,800 for bed and breakfast for two people, yet the hotel advertises a direct rate of KSh 2,500 per person (KSh 5,000 for two) for B&B and KSh 3,400 per person (KSh 6,800 for two) for half board, raising questions about value for money.

Great price and a few minutes’ walk from Naivasha’s center. The management is very kind, but the restaurant tables where breakfast is served could be cleaner.
