The cabin’s proximity to Hershey was great, and the campground itself was wonderful. The communication through the campground’s messaging system was awful during booking: I reserved over a year ahead, added a second cabin four months later (still 10 months before arrival), and repeatedly asked for them to be next to each other, only to be told “no guarantee, but a note was placed on my booking.” A week before arrival I called Thousand Trails National reservations, and a very nice man confirmed there was a note, but the cabins that were directly next to both of ours had already been reserved after my request. He said the cabins were chosen by the system’s auto‑picker and, because the date was so close, he couldn’t help further. We ended up staying in two separate family groups and had to drive back and forth between cabins, which felt like terrible customer service.
