The calm and the view of the forest. The breakfast was typically German and very hearty. Staying in the apartment, it was a bit inconvenient to have to go outside for breakfast, especially when it rained.

Location is isolated and quiet. We arrived at the scheduled check‑in time, but no one was there. We called, but the landline rang empty at reception, no other contacts. We sent a message, but nothing. After some time we wandered around and a local resident called someone at the hotel, who entered reception and gave us the envelope with the keys. We expected someone to come… but nothing. The hotel remained completely open and without reception all night, us the only guests. In the morning, no one was there. We sent several messages to the facility, but never received a reply. Given the reviews about its renowned hospitality, I would say we felt very bad, worse than an Airbnb. The rooms are truly Franciscan: we found a luggage rack in the corridor, an old‑fashioned bathroom. Overall, I wouldn't return.

The location was very good, quiet, and the house and surroundings were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent. Christine and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We really liked it and will gladly recommend it.
