“No interior locks on room doors and only stay here if you have your own car.”

The gîte sits in a beautiful spot, but it can only be reached by car and taxis are scarce, so it’s best if you have your own vehicle. Most importantly, there was no interior lock on my room door, so it didn’t feel safe. Anyone who knew the key code could have entered anytime while I slept. No one was there to greet me upon arrival and I had no way to access my room. When I finally found someone, she was nice, but it was unsettling. The room wasn’t necessarily dirty, but it was very dusty, as if it had been empty for a long time since the last cleaning.

I checked in on my own using the code, the restaurant area was ready for use, and the room renovation looked flawless, but getting hot water was a real hassle.

“Deceptif”

The sheets were torn, stained, and the floor was covered in dirt; a shower curtain separated a room that felt like a construction site, and the bathroom windows were filthy—plus no hot water at all.

“Bien et sympathique mais il faudrait avoir un minimum d’échange avec le propriétaire”

The location was good and the rooms were all new and comfy, yet no staff appeared, the kitchen we had at our disposal was filthy and missing a pot, and I called the listed number twice with no answer or return call.
