“disappointing”
The restaurant was bright, and the staff were lovely, helpful, pleasant, and cheery. We had to move rooms after taking a video of the first one, which was neither clean nor adequate; the bath had a shower curtain, a hole in the back of the door where the hook had been, and the door had wear marks where things had been hung. Paint was peeling off the walls. Initially, they wanted us to pay £70 per day for an upgrade, which we refused and switched to a different, better room. That room’s cleanliness was average. We were unaware that the booking required us to pay to use the spa facilities, a detail not made clear on the website. I booked with the intention to swim and wasn’t prepared to pay £70 for a swim, and I had no interest in the other wet facilities. A friend and I removed cobwebs from her light fittings. The interiors were tired and long past their prime. For a spa, the fresh fruit selection was minimal—just melon or heavily sugared berries.
