One of the best places we stayed in Uzbekistan – spotless, a big room, a warm welcome like friends, excellent service, and breakfast was just perfect with healthy options and plenty of fresh fruit, which I really appreciated as a vegetarian. We’ll always remember the sympathy, care, and the good tea Fatik made for us each day. Thank you.

Within walking distance of the Ark, the room was clean, the staff super friendly and helpful, most of whom spoke English, and breakfast was excellent with a wide spread of very fresh fruit.

Arriving in the morning, the staff kindly gave me breakfast and an early check‑in, which was a huge relief after a long flight. The Uzbek‑style architecture is not only beautiful but the staff feel very welcoming, and every day they handed me a different sweet treat. The hotel is about a five‑minute walk from Al‑Karkar Castle, so the location is great. I definitely want to come back.

We found ourselves at the family‑run Hotel Sarhad in Bukhara because there were few options, and it turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The place is cozy and accommodating, and the local staff’s warmth truly touched me. We arrived from Samarkand at 2:30 am and the hotel offered a complimentary pick‑up, worrying about our late arrival. My husband and I fell a bit ill with a minor fever and cough, so they drove us to a pharmacy and helped us get the right medication. In Uzbekistan, people are so hospitable and warm; occasional language hiccups didn’t feel like bad intentions or exploitation. I highly recommend Hotel Sarhad for anyone visiting Bukhara, even though we only stayed two days, it was enough to taste the true local hospitality. Thank you, Hotel Sarhad! ❤️ The only minor gripe: the breakfast coffee machine is a bit old.

They greeted me with pastries, which felt like a special gesture. It was impressive how seriously they observed Islamic rules. They even arranged a terrace dinner for us in a fully furnished restaurant that seemed almost impossible to book. The only downside is that there is no elevator; the staff had to lift our luggage themselves, and an elevator would have made their lives easier.
