“Een onvergetelijk verblijf, voor herhaling vatbaar.”
Sak Ja Selva sits on the edge of Selva Lacandona, a beautiful natural area. The contact with the hosts Rojerio and Lady was easy. Rojerio, whose parents, ancestors, and family originally come from this area and still live there, drove us to Bonampak (where we experienced the richness for the first hour ourselves) and took us on a three‑hour walk through the Selva. He could explain the significance of the fauna to the Maya and, for example, about edible plants, which he also gathered along the way. The food at the restaurant next to the nearby resort is excellent and the service is fantastic. The room is simple but will improve over time. The rooster from the village has no watch and keeps going all the time. We didn’t find that an issue, but earplugs are handy for the night.
