“Comfortable and clean.”
The hotel is nice, and the onsen was outstanding—plus the happy hour vibe was a big hit.
The spot is great for hiking in Zao, and the onsen perched in the forest is superb. The building itself feels a bit old‑fashioned and could use a refresh.
“Friendly staff and well located to both the ski hill and restaurants.”
The staff were very accommodating and friendly, suggesting places to eat for dinner. The location was perfect for us each morning because we could walk easily to the ski hill, and a drying room was available for our gear. In the evenings, restaurants and public onsens were within a reasonable walking distance. The onsen was very authentic, offering both indoor and outdoor options at different temperatures. The beds were very comfortable. My husband and our friend really enjoyed meeting each night in the open lounge area by the fireplace before heading back to our rooms. I would definitely stay again.
“Schönes Onsen”
The hotel feels a bit dated, but the longer I stayed the more I appreciated the charm of the old décor. The bathroom was clean, and trees around the outdoor pool were all green in spring. The breakfast was plentiful, but the breakfast room felt uncomfortable and lacked a warm atmosphere, so the food didn’t taste great either.
“ゆっくり過ごせました。もう一泊したかった。”
The onsen, free beer, breakfast, onsen tours and the hospitality of the staff were all great and everyone seemed very pleasant. The hotel itself was fine, but the hot‑spring town had very few open shops so we couldn’t enjoy wandering around; it would be nice to have a bedside lamp and the dryer in the changing room was broken.
