“Conveniently positioned but we wouldn’t recommend”
The proximity to friends’ accommodation was convenient. The steep staircase, loud road noise, and noisy pub users until very late were the main negatives.

The property has a beautiful character and sits above a delightful pub. I stayed in a large, bright room with a gorgeous, spacious bathroom. The stairs are very steep, but the location is excellent, just ten minutes from Alton Towers. The pub below is a local spot with many friendly residents who made us feel very welcome, especially those with dogs. We could hear the pub noise from below, which wasn’t an issue and added to the atmosphere, except for a shot competition at 1.15 am one morning when we could hear every word—they were clearly having a good time. The next night was so quiet that it must have been a one‑off. The food at the pub was brilliant, hearty, and in huge portions, and the staff were lovely. The bed was a little soft for us, but we would definitely stay again. Thank you for a charming visit. The only downsides were the noise one night until 1.15 am, only one toilet roll, watch your head on the low beams, and the bed being a little soft.

The location was great since we were at Alton Towers that day, and the information shared before our stay was helpful. There was nothing I didn’t like, except that the basic room—what we had expected—lacked toilet paper; only a small amount was on the roll and there was no spare in the room. It was also a bit cold, but I would stay again.

Close to Alton Towers, the room was a good size and the staff were friendly. The shower is very small but sufficient for a small person. The building Wi‑Fi doesn’t reach the room (Room 4), so we were cut off from the rest of the world, and there’s also very limited cell signal. It wouldn’t be an issue if I had been expecting it, but unfortunately I arrived with my online work stuff.

I loved our stay here. My friend and I stayed while we went to Alton Towers. The staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. Overall, a great stay! The only minor issue was hearing the guys downstairs talking in the bar while we were trying to sleep.
