A beautiful and charming hotel right on the waterfront of Lake Balaton. The rooms were mostly empty as the crowds of summer resort goers returned to the city when their kids school vacation ended. So I had the place to myself. The receptionist, Sylvester, spoke perfect English and was very helpful. Nothing

The staff were especially friendly, helpful and child‑friendly, which is a huge plus for the accommodation. Also the Swedish‑style breakfast and dinner were very tasty, with a generous daily selection. It’s great that there’s a bar on site where you can enjoy cocktails or coffee while looking at the Balaton. I would especially highlight bartender Alex’s friendliness and guest‑orientation. The private beach area is a big advantage, not to mention the beautiful view. The separate playroom is also very useful if you travel with a small child. Unfortunately, I think the place is very expensive in terms of value for money (though that’s more a Balaton‑coast peculiarity, obviously if the market allows, every accommodation will adjust its prices accordingly). We spent 4 days here, and that money came from Italy, Emilia‑Romagna, on the coast, where our 4‑star pool accommodation cost a week last year. The specific negative of this accommodation is the room: small, not properly equipped, and not sound‑proof. There is no bathroom shelf or shelf, the noise‑absorbing material always had to be put over the toilet. There was no shower holder for the pipes. No nightstand, only a fold‑down chair could be used instead of a proper chair or armchair. The neighbor’s TV could be heard all night. For that money you expect more, and these things would improve comfort a lot.

The hotel was closing for maintenance, so despite the staff’s good intentions, dinner and breakfast were cut back to a bare minimum.

The food was very tasty, generous, and homely, and the staff were friendly; the beach was nearby. The hotel itself was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with a modern décor. However, there were no full‑length mirrors anywhere except a small one in the bathroom. The “French bed” was actually two single beds pushed together, and the gaps between the mattresses caused a lot of discomfort. The cooked dishes were lukewarm, and the refrigerator in the room made a slight noise.
