“Well worth considering, if you just need a comfortable place to sleep.”
Hotel was certainly budget, but the room was clean and the fittings etc were in places a bit worn, but functional. You can see that some rooms are being renovated at the moment (Oct 26), so the owners aren't taking things for granted. Pleasantly surprised to be honest. It's extremely convenient for the airport about 20 mins on the 100 (just get an open ended return), and only about 10 mins from the west end of Princes Street by bus, and the services are frequent. Walkable to the Murrayfield tram stop and the stadium. Lothian transport has now integrated things so you just tap a card to get on and costs are capped at a day ticket price, so its a much easier city to move around in than it used to be. If you just want somewhere to sleep while you visit Edinburgh, without breaking the bank, this is a good option. Not a complaint as such, but the way interprets the after hours check in suggests it might not be possible. It absolutely is possible, and you get an email with room number and key code before you arrive. I'm told normally a day or two in advance, but owners were kind enough to send mine sooner. Other than that, in my room TV is on its last legs and will only turn on once before you need to climb on a chair and turn off and on at the wall. I reckon that will get switched out soon though. As far as the area goes, its a fairly long walk to the shops in Costorphine, with only a small convenience.store at Western Corner. So you'll be eating in town. It is also on a busy road. It is largely residential, for some.context, but the traffic noise is fairly constant
