Nice location, I felt safe staying there. I don’t think there was anything I would say wrong really, for what I paid it was as expected, a nice place to stay, comfy, nice view, fairly priced

There wasn’t much to like. The place wasn’t suitable for what I needed, and security was a joke – you can’t lock your room unless you hand over £25 for a key. The front door never stayed locked, and parking was a mess. The room was filled with old furniture that did nothing for comfort, there was no TV remote, the window wouldn’t stay open so it rarely got hot, there was no sink, and all I got was a sheet on the bed.

Breakfast was great and the location worked well for me. Parking was easy on a side street right next to the property, and I appreciated having a microwave. The host was friendly and interesting during our breakfast chat. The room felt a bit chilly because the radiators never really warmed up; I asked about it and the host explained that the heating was set to 18 °C by the regulations, which I accepted without complaint. The steep stairs were dangerous for an elderly person like myself (74 years old, with significant pain in both feet, knees, and hips) because the handrail was missing from the ground floor to the first floor. I didn’t know before arrival that I would be on the second floor, and the host didn’t tell me which floor I’d be on.

Nothing was satisfactory. When I arrived, the owner told me the room I had booked was unavailable and offered a breakfast in the front room/office (dirty) or the kitchen space (even more untidy) or on the patio, which looked like a construction site, so I declined. The room I saw was below standard and a shared dirty bedroom, which was unacceptable. He then said the front door was always open and that he wanted £25 for a room key, which I refused. I decided not to stay, and he promised a full refund, but I only received a partial refund. I would advise anyone to stay well clear of this accommodation.
