“It suited our needs and fine for one night.”
The hotel offers good value for money and a convenient location. The staff were a bit tired and not very welcoming, and the food was quite average.

There was free parking, but the room was in very poor condition with large stains on the carpet, a window sill melted by cigarettes where people had clearly been smoking, a towel rail falling apart, holes in the tiles, a lamp falling apart, and dark stains on the bathroom walls. No tea, coffee, or orange juice was available for breakfast in the restaurant—apparently the hot drink machine was broken and the staff didn’t know how to boil a kettle. Staff were smoking in the restaurant doorway and the smoke blew into the restaurant, and they were vacuuming around the tables during breakfast at 9:30 am. Door key cards didn’t work. I could keep listing problems, but in short this place is clearly on its last legs.

The room was very small, with no bedside lights—having to get out of bed to turn on a light on the far side of the door. The lampshade on the main light was filthy and stained, and the lamp on the desk had a broken lampshade. The toilet seat was the wrong size and kept falling off, so I tightened it before leaving. The breakfast buffet was not set up because there were no customers, there was no tea or coffee because the machine was broken, and the kitchen couldn’t boil a kettle for some reason. No orange juice was left. The toast for my scrambled eggs was so thin I could barely see it. The staff seemed very surly and did no more than necessary. Cleaners were sitting in the bar having a drink and then started vacuuming while our table of eight was seated for breakfast. Not a good experience at all.

The room was quiet and clean, and the staff were friendly enough. Tea‑making facilities were available and the shower was decent. There was no bedside light, everything felt very basic, and the location isn’t within walking distance of anything interesting. The pub downstairs was okay.

Finding the hotel was a breeze, and the staff were friendly, but the entire building looks like it needs a full overhaul and the room itself was in terrible condition, requiring a complete refurbishment and new furniture.
