The huge tree‑lined garden, comfy beds, kids’ play area, nearby farm animals, and wild animals crossing the garden – the only downside was the lack of shutters in the rooms.

The location relative to the Château de Guedelon and the property’s surroundings: a large, very pleasant garden.

A lovely cottage with a large garden that feels like a getaway and is well equipped; it’s just a short walk from Guedelon and St Fargeau for sightseeing. The bathroom that opens onto the kitchen could use a tighter door, and the price was a bit higher than we’d hoped, but overall it was still very pleasant.

We arrived with six adults and three children right after Christmas, looking for a cozy home to explore, walk, cook, and celebrate New Year’s; the house delivered perfectly. It felt like home, and we especially enjoyed the spacious kitchen, garden, and fireplace. A few donkeys, sheep, and chickens in front of the house added a charming rural vibe, and the remote location offered a spectacular starry sky. On the first floor there are four bedrooms—two are large, the other two a bit smaller, with the best beds in the biggest room. The upstairs bathroom is roomy, and the toilet shares a bedroom. The living room boasts a generous seating area and a fireplace, while the kitchen is ample and the dining table comfortably seats nine or ten. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the living room was a delightful touch. We also recommend visiting the Basilica Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de Vézelay for its special light. The only downside was a noticeable petroleum smell in the downstairs room next to the living room and in the bedroom above the toilet.

The surrounding countryside’s charm, the house’s exposed beams, and overall character made for a delightful stay—nothing to add.
