Tony, the hotel manager and owner, was absolutely amazing—friendly, courteous, and always ready to answer any questions about the area. The hotel and our rooms were spotless, feeling more like staying with family than a typical hotel. The area was quiet and relaxing. The continental breakfast was outstanding, with fresh bread delivered each morning, fresh fruit, smoked meats and cheese boards, yogurts, toppings, and homemade jellies and jams. Farm‑fresh eggs could be cooked on the spot for hard‑boiled eggs. The sliced smoked meats were made by the owners and were delicious. Breakfast isn’t free, so you’ll need to pay, but it’s worth every penny and super convenient for rushed sightseeing and travel times. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and large enough for our needs. The beds were comfortable, though the pillows were a bit too soft, so I used my travel neck pillow. There’s no air conditioning, but that wasn’t an issue because we were in Munich for Oktoberfest and the weather was pleasant and not too hot. The rooms stayed cool and sleeping at night was very pleasant. It was a short walk or an Uber to and from the train station. Catching the train to Munich was easy, clean, and straightforward. The return trip from Munich to Dachau and back to the hotel was sometimes a little tricky because our connecting trains would occasionally be cancelled at the last minute. We still managed fairly easily and would just take an Uber. I can’t overstate how caring the staff were in providing anything we needed. I was traveling with a foot injury that required icing each day, and Tony and his team worked hard to supply us with ice. I was extremely grateful. Our stay was stress‑free and relaxing! I did not realize that most of the surrounding area didn’t have ice machines, so I couldn’t buy ice on my own. That was a minor inconvenience for reducing swelling. Occasionally, our train connections were cancelled last minute, which caused some stress but was usually easily resolved.

The building is beautiful, the welcome and living environment are good, and the location is excellent near the train station. However, there were many shortcomings in the furnishings—flickering light bulbs and a sink that didn’t close properly—plus rushed and superficial cleaning (old dust on many surfaces, cobwebs, and very dusty drawers and shelves inside the rooms).

The homemade jam and sausage are very tasty. Unfortunately, the trains that ran close to the hotel were quite loud.
