“Highly recommended for its spacious rooms, excellent rooftop dining with fort views, and outstanding”

The Balarwa Haveli runs smoothly as a family hotel, with plenty of care for guests; the owner is super helpful and the staff are very friendly. We stayed two nights and dined at the rooftop restaurant, where the food was excellent and the fort view was great. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped for comfort. Overall, a very pleasant stay and highly recommended. The haveli sits on the edge of the old town, so noise can be high, though a quiet lane helps. The tinted windows typical of haveli style could use double glazing for a perfect stay.

The room was gorgeous, spacious, and comfy. From the terrace you get breathtaking views of the fort, and the food service is solid. It’s a 10‑minute walk to the train station or just 5 minutes by tuk‑tuk.

“Nice personnel, facility not very clean or comfortable though”

You’ll get good value for the price, and the location is handy near the train station. The staff were very accommodating, even cooking for me at midnight and letting me keep my suitcase after check‑out twice. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, the bed felt uncomfortable, and stray dogs and trash were in front of the building. If you arrive after dark from the station, skip walking and take a tuk‑tuk or car instead.

The food was tasty. There’s no intercom, and the hotel’s bar means you need a separate dining room for family meals.
