The location and the welcome were good. The room was cold for the season and the window let in too much draft.

Nestled in the heart of Casentino Forest National Park opposite Camaldoli Monastery, Locanda dei Baroni dates to 1100 and retains monastic charm. Family‑run rooms showcase antique Tuscan furnishings, original ceilings and wood floors, deliberately free of phones and TVs. Guests enjoy a garden, terrace restaurant serving regional cuisine, on‑site bike rentals, and direct access to 35 000 ha of forest trails.

This is my second visit to this hotel (the first was three years ago); the location is definitely unique, practically surrounded by forest. The room is minimal but fits the setting. The mattresses should be improved; the food is good but not very light. The value for money could be better (everything is very expensive). I recommend it as a base to be in Camaldoli. The mattress is soft, there’s a cooking smell in the rooms, and the prices are high.

Das Hotel wirkt genauso altmodisch wie das Kloster daneben, was sowohl ein Plus als auch ein Minus ist.

I liked the location, all the staff were very kind and always helpful, the silence, peace and tranquility, the restaurant and the bar I ate well. The rooms could be better, cleaning is fine, but I think it’s time to renovate a bit. The breakfasts had no savory part; the cakes are excellent but only the cakes.
