Wonderful room, wonderful breakfast, very pretty village of Saint Nicholas. Everything was fine.
“Όλα ήταν υπέροχα!”
The accommodation is in nature, very close to Karpenisi and the saloon (just ten minutes) and most importantly pet‑friendly! Service and facilities are flawless, the breakfast is rich, and the innkeeper is wonderful! I recommend it and will definitely visit again!
“Wonderful stay, can only recommennd it. Both the place and the broader environment. Forget Mykonos!”
We stayed five days for Easter 2026 as a retired couple from Greece. Lina, the host, and her son George, who runs the only lively café in the village, upgraded us to a two‑storey apartment with a fireplace that was beautifully decorated. George shared plenty of great excursion tips. Breakfast was very good, offering many variations and a lot of homemade marmelades and cakes; I’d have liked a bit more fruit, but we’re in a mountain country. Getting there from the main road is easy, free parking is available, and the drive is straightforward. The area is full of lovely villages and scenery—from Prousos Monastery (worth the trip even if it’s not religious), to Lake of Kremaston in the south, and Agrafa in the north (stop at the restaurant Neromylos for a break). Karpenisi isn’t much to recommend and parking is hard, so rent a car. Horse riding is nice (Natfil or Fotis?), and there’s a tour at Lake of Kremaston where it’s very clean and you can swim. You can buy propolis and other bee products from agriamelissa.gr in Karpenisi, plus local cheese and prosciutto. The rest is up to you. Depending on the time of year and weather, you can walk in gorges, see waterfalls, etc. As for improvements, we’d like more fruit and a more American‑style breakfast in the residence. In Megalo Chorio, restaurant Thanasis and the sweet shop on the top (Racomelo?) are okay but are becoming increasingly touristy, overpriced, and over‑hyped. There’s also a slight sense of women being treated as less important, such as being talked to without eye contact.
Perhaps the best hotel in the Karpenisi area for hospitality, personal service, comfort, cleanliness, taste, and location. Mrs Lina is an exceptional host, extremely kind and helpful. She makes the big difference when comparing a nice, simple, affordable rooms‑to‑rent hotel with a five‑star hotel. Congratulations Mrs Lina and thank you for your warm hospitality and kindness!
Everything was amazing!
