Because a highway closure forced us onto a detour, we missed dinner time, but the quick‑thinking hotel staff arranged a warm room‑service meal right when we checked in, which really moved us. The meat was excellent – the hotel runs its own farm, so the dishes are incredibly tasty. Next time I’ll definitely sit down for the full buffet dinner. The approach to the open‑air bath was a bit dim and the stones in the tub were rough, which made me worry about getting hurt.

The onsen was at a perfect temperature, soft and very pleasant. Since I have dietary restrictions, I appreciated the wide selection and the reasonably priced room‑service dinner that let me enjoy Shikishima beef. However, the parking area needs work in rainy weather – the pavement and the covered walkway from the entrance could be improved.

The hotel is fabulous! The Onsen is wonderful, very peaceful. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of possibilities, and the personnel is awesome.

I liked that I could walk straight into the large public bath without having to bring a towel, and the hotel is compact enough to get around on the stairs without ever using the lift. On the downside, the buffet kept adding dishes far too late, forcing me to shuttle back and forth with my plate, the vending machines were completely out of alcoholic drinks, the air was overly dry, and the washroom was dimly lit.
