“Nice hotel in Sa Pa”
I found the spot right in Sa Pa’s heart, but the lack of an elevator made hauling my big suitcases up to the third floor a hassle, and on the first night the air‑conditioner just wouldn’t turn on.

I ended up stuck at 12:30 am after booking here: right after booking I texted to let them know I’d be arriving on a sleeper bus between 12 am and 1 am, but their reply was about trekking tours I wasn’t interested in, so I sent another message with my arrival time before boarding the bus to Sa Pa. I’d specifically booked a room with 24‑hour reception, which they claimed. After a long bus ride I called Grab to the hotel, rang the reception bell at the desk, but no one answered. I then texted the “reception WhatsApp number” saying I was there, still no reply. I called several times, still no answer. I was nearly 1 am with all my luggage and no place to sleep, wandering the streets looking for a hotel that had someone at the front desk—hard to find. I finally found a place that was open and stayed there, paying almost double my budget because it was the only option. The worst part was when I just wanted to use the toilet before my midnight wander and found a rat in the bathroom and a terrible smell. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, I look for positives, but I felt I had to warn future guests. If you’re arriving late, make sure you get a 100 % confirmation that someone will be there. The next day I received an apology saying the receptionist wasn’t feeling well and fell asleep—understandable, but maybe keep your ringer on if you know someone hasn’t checked in yet, or have someone else check in, or offer a self‑check‑in option. I’m not posting to say don’t stay here (I didn’t even stay), just to warn because many people come to Sa Pa on night buses.

The spot was great, I could see the mountain from my room, and the hotel’s within walking distance of Sapa station, Sapa Night Market and Sapa Lake. The staff was super helpful and helped me book a bus to Hanoi. The property wasn’t clean; it had a musty smell and surfaces seemed untouched for a while.
