Breakfast was fantastic and the location couldn’t have been better. The staff were very friendly, but it’s a serious issue for a five‑star hotel that no one spoke Italian or Spanish. Housekeeping wasn’t perfect; we had to ask them to clean the coffee machine, leave the pods, and tidy the external balcony because after a day at the beach we always brought some sand back.

The hotel was fantastic, with a comfy room and ultra‑soft bedding, everything you could need was there, and the sea‑view terrace was stunning. The beach was right across the street, always a lounge chair ready for you and beach towels supplied, and the beach service was excellent. For lunch the buffet was amazing, constantly changing its sweet and savory selections, and there was always a seat available. The staff greeted us each morning with kindness and smiles, and dinner at the Plaza de Porto restaurant was simply unforgettable – the saganiki shrimp, Greek salads with tzatziki, and calamarata pasta with Cretan ragù were all superb, as were the Cretan wines. Vassili’s service was outstanding; he even treated us to a beautiful traditional dance. A huge thank‑you to the whole team, from the manager to the restaurant crew and housekeeping, for giving us the best holiday in ages – warm, generous, full of great encounters, a timeless moment with memories we’ll never lose. We also loved strolling through Rethymno’s old town, its shopping streets, waterfront restaurants, the modern art museum, archaeology museum, the citadel, churches and cathedral – the perfect mix of beach relaxation, culture and Cretan cuisine. Thanks again to everyone at the hotel, bravo!

The service is excellent and the staff are kind, genuinely going the extra mile! Breakfast has a great selection. The sea view is great, and the windows are well insulated so the traffic outside the hotel isn’t as disturbing as I feared. The rooms need a facelift, especially the bathroom that had a slight mold smell and dirty or worn‑down grout lines. I want to point out that the rooms are nice and tidy, but perhaps not living up to the pictures shown.
